AK Young Women’s Emergency Accommodation Service is a 24 hour, 7 days a week crisis support service for young women aged between 13 and 21 years who may be experiencing violence, homelessness, or who are at risk of becoming homeless. The young women are provided with secure and safe short term accommodation for up to 6 weeks no matter what their history, religion, race or culture.
AK workers are committed to working with young women with dignity, respect and in a non-judgemental manner. The workers support young women with budgeting, time management, living skills development, anger management, emotional support, health matters, legal matters, employment, education and training, safety and longer term accommodation options.
